When examing a ptient in whom both the heart and the lung should be examined, do we do one .finish it, cover the patient and thank him . and then explain the next system we would like to examine? or do we move directly to the heart for example without covering ,and then reexposing ?????Please answer.

If its a lung case, do a complete LUNG examination and just auscaltate the heart and If its a heart case, do the complete HEART examination first and then chk if the lungs are clear by ausculatation. Pts comfort is the most important aspect in the physical exam, so do whatever examination is relevant to the exposed part and then cover and then move one to the next part, say the abdominal exam..
