A cervical scraping from a women with vaginal bleeding and discharge, lower back pain and pain on intercourse shows cytoplasmic inclusions within epithelial cells, the intracelluar organisms causing the infection are unusual b/c the can't synthesize the following :

a-cell wall

b-cholesterol

c-adenosine triphosphate

d-cysteine

e-adenine dinucleotide

inefction is of chlamydia trachomatis....most common in US

the other obligate intracellular organism is Ricketsiaa which can synthesize ATP in very small amounts (if you doubt this please read MRS)
