looks like most of the prematches go to ppl who do not need a visa. no offense but it also looks like most of the ppl are not proud of where they accepted prematch becoz they do not want to disclose. i guess its understandable as accepting prematch means u have to compromise somewhere. best of luck to all.

rezaaa: Maybe some people just want to keep anonymous, that's all... And sometimes the PDs ask people not to be mentioning it. Or so I've heard.

Or so I've heard. it is true that some PDs would like to keep it quiet, as it was in my case PD asked me not to mention to anyone in the room that i was offered pre-match....so, it is understandable that people do not want to disclose this kind of information on another hand, does it really matter? don't think so i don't post my cred's because i didn't accept the offer

well that may not be true that prematches are offered to ppl who dont need visa also if its a good university program they will never ask to keep it secret..they are never afraid of any thing nor they are voilating any rules, its just nature of IMGS...to be afraid that they will be caught or something...as no one will come after you that u wrote about the prematch in this forum..no one has that amount of time... also not necessarily ppl that take prematch and are compromising... so chill out dudes

usmle12...please dont generalize..it is one's pregrogative to disclose anything or not..some of the "AMGs" forum have score threads that are woefully smaller than this wonderful forum's score thread..does it mean AMGs are scared of declaring their scores?? "no one will come after you that u wrote about the prematch in this forum..no one has that amount of time..." how do you know this???

hey , if someone doesnt want to reveal the program they signed at , its totally ok , relax ppl......whats the big deal?......the object of this thread is not to invite bragging ,is it?.......and since everyones situation is very different , i wudnt say that ppl who take prematches r not proud of the compromise they made........if u read the details , ull realise lots of ppl decided to take it , and lots didnt......whose decision was better and whose worse , is so personal .......and for all of us who r going for the match , we cant be 100 %sure of how we will fare.....so y take a shot at those who did what they had to and are not a pack of nerves like the rest of us?.......chill ppl...... .........the fact is that , for me , like i guess for many of us , if we had been offered a prematch by our top 1-3 choices , we wud hav gone for it.......i wud hav.......so , perhaps those who accepted , were given such a choice!.......and besides , the truth is that ppl with visa issues do prefer to prematch and b done with it.........And i dont think programs offer prematches merely based on who needs visas and who dont.......i know a guy who needs a visa , had lik 25 ivs and refused like 5 prematchs........so , it really is the whole package that matters.......

would you disclose your name and address in a public forum for everybody? probably not... that's why here most of us ...99.9% have a "username" and some, more than others prefer to remain anonymous ... why do we come then? I came to learn more about the process and to reach my goal. .... I studied for step 1, step 2, followed ton's of advices ...etc...and in the process I got to meet with pleasant people who were and are in the same boat... Am I embarrassed or not proud of the place I prematched because I do not disclose it now? not at all...
