Hello. I am in a fix. I was offered a prematch in a program I really like; one in my top 3.

I did an observership in another program and I expressed to the program director of the program (who was my attending during observership) i did observership that their program is on top of my list and the PD said that they hope to see me with them and wrote me a strong letter. This program is in my top 3 too. I have not done my interview in this program yet, it is scheduled for next month.

What would you do? If i take the prematch, what should I tell the PD of the program I did observership at?

Please I need you suggestions!!! Help!!!

Dude/Dudette

Take whatever is offered to you in a confirmed manner. Like the chances of you matching with that particular program (which gave you the letter) are considerably less when they havent invited you for an interview. The offering Pre match is also in your top 3 so for the one that gives you or offers you the prematch.

Mostly from other seniors i have learnt is that the ones who really want you will give you a prematch otherwise they are waiting for something better or hope to get something better.

Moi 2 cents

Let the seniors weigh in on this one.

FORTUNE FAVORS THE BRAVE! If you reject this prematch, you might end up in the number 1 program of your choice. Talk to PD where you did your observorship about this prematch offer and see his response.

yeah have to agree just call up the PD where you think that by giving a strong letter presumably he will select you. Tell him about the this prematch offer and then ask him if goes mum or goes like" ahan and good for you" then you do know what to do dont you.

I have thought about it and I will take the prematch. I like both programs and I think I would be happy in either one. If I could rank 2 programs as #1, I think it would be these two programs; so I will take it.

I just want to end this whole match thing.

Since I commented the PD where I did observership that I consider the program to be my top choice and the commented that they hope to see me there, should I send the PD an email telling them that I accepted a prematch somewhere else and thank them for the opportunity they gave me to be with them even I am not going to be with them anymore?
