Hi guys, well i have been a relatively silent but had been actively following the forum here. So finally it happened to me too, got an pre match offer from a program i really loved and just grabbed that. i know its just a start but a surely an end to a lot of anxieties and worries. My credentials were not that great with no usce Lor's etc, old grad......but all you need is one good interview....what i have learnt from my experience is that one should be really really honest and be yourself. My biggest challenge was to justify my change from surgery to medicine. My past clinical experience was met with deifferent reactions from being indifferent to totally negative. One good thing about US is that every program is different and this diversity is so so important. This program i matched too had almost no img's, and before i went there i thought i have no chance here and for some strange reason this feeling translated me to be really really relaxed , be totally me and be really honest as to what i am and what i wanted to do......and it worked!!!! Anyways thanksa lot guys, you all have contributed to my success in many different ways.......... thanks

Thanks a lot everyone. I was offered the pre match the next day by email . I just reached home after a long flight and sat down typing the thank you note, but just before i could finish writing that, got the mail regarding the prematch. Just couldnt believe that for a moment...called the PD the next minute and she was happy that i reciprocated their enthusiasm with mine. wow ...... life..... things could happen in minutes......... and now i;m a relieved man. The coffee at dunkin donuts never tasted so better........ wonder how frame of mind changes the way you look at everything..... thanks guys!!!!
