1rst MARCH 2008
Started with BEHAV.SCIENCE a lot of it was very similar to step2 ck community med notes, but i went ahead listened to all biostats and epid lectures, coz this is not one of my fav subjects, so the revision helped to refresh my memory..loved the step2 ck notes on psychiatry , decided to combine it with step1 psychiatry notes and again ethics section is same as in step2 ck..so this topic as a whole wont take much time for me to finish, coz around 90% of it was already done in step2
planning to start with Physiology on 4th march inshallah....

4th March 2008
Started with PHYSIOLOGY.Finshed reading the first 2 section,consisting of cell bio, fluids, and excitable tisue..listening to the DVDs as well...
For Today--------->Will start with cardiology lectures and revise patho-cardio chapter simultaneously

Finished reading Peripheral circulation, General CVS physio and cardiology from kaplan.Enjoyed reading it from kaplan..so I have planned on sticking with only kaplan for physio as of now..Listening to the physio DVDs is a MUST...though the guy is slow, he is not boring, and does say a lot of important points which has helped me to understand the notes even better..
For today:-
Respiratory and Renal system..

6th and 7th March 2008
Finally finished reading Respiratory and Renal chapter..Took frequent breaks in b/w reading coz we had lot of guests yday, so my reading went slow..
for Today-------->will try to finish reading both skeletal and cardiac muscle chapters.

8th March 2008:-
Finished reading skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle chapters from Kaplan.Very important chapters and the Highest HY chapters in step1 physiology.Shld emphasize on the point that Physiology DVDs is a must for the prep.
For Today---------->Endocrinology and Gastrointestinal physiology.

9th and 10th March
Finished with Endo and GI chapters and started with ABG disorders..
For today--------->to finish ABG disorders and Reproductive System.

11th and 12th March 2008:-
Finished with ABG disorders and Reproductive system-------->and with this I have finished my first Reading of all the materials in STEP1...............Hurray!!!!!!!!
So FROM TODAY----------->My Second Reading starts along with Kaplan q bank and UW, both will be done system wise..
Today and Tomorrow------------->A fast reading of Physiology ( I just finished my first reading of physio, so this would be very quick revision)+ to attempt questions for kaplan q bank , UW-physio and Kaplan Physio bank...

Back to my journal after a looooooooooooong break ...had to leave for india due to an emergency..returned yday from india and i am already back to my books..didnt read a word while in india, dont know how much i remember .

I hope you will annylate step 1 since you have already done all the hard work . I remember those days when we used to have intense discussion about CK , time just flied

m new to this forum...and i must say that what made me create an account in this forum is ur journal
i was really impressed by ur determination..which i am presently lacking
i am a 2007 graduate..and i wanted to ask u how u manage to study with so much determination with a kid around MASHA ALLAH....coz i am postponing my pregnancy bcoz of step 1...and i havnt taken any of the steps!!

Salam usmledreams and dreams...thanks for all your kind words..usmledreams i did have my mom's help for managing my son..but from now on i have to do all tht all alone..let me see how things will work out without my mom around...

Thanks usmledreams for dropping by. ..was busy moving to a new place and I lost a couple of days without studying due to the shifting..As far as studies are concerned I have lot of catching up to do..
Will start with Anatomy(Gross) from HY today and will try to finish Veterbral column, spinal cord and thorax by tonight...

Wow its been long since i updated my journal..alrighty I am currently revising neuroanatomy..revision? I dont remember a single line when i opened the book the second time ..So I shld say I have started neuroanatomy all over again and today
my target is brainstem and spinal cord..
