hi i am more than happy to tell you my expriance if it helps
i failed step 1 and had to take it again and i passed, even though my aim was to score above 90 a scored 85 and i am happy. Now preparing for CK.I am a mother have 2 kids "full time Job"nodnodnodnodnod.
What i want to tell you is dont give up,Be determined,if you are not ready to do this 2 things that is when your failure is.
so the first thing you should do is figure out where your weakness, Is it the study material you used? The way you used them?the high yeald topics.
in my case i figured out my weakness was biochem and molecular biology so i started to read this things from the basics,i was not in a rash to take the test again
i did many questions, make use of the forum to read experiances about frequently tested topics
How do you know that you are ready to retake the exam? the answer is when you are able to answer as many questions as possible. As you read from the forum NBME a good evaluation tool to see where you stand.and UW is a very good Q bank source to consolidate what you know.try to take short notes while you do uw spically in the questions you miss frequently.Use 1 aid to focus on high yeald topices after all this you are ready to attack step 1.
Dont think you are wasting your time by preparing 2 times for step 1 after all you are going to use this for CK and CS too when i say this shaking headI am not Rationalizingshaking head
this personal opeanion you may take it or drop itnod

Hi guys,

I didn't pass the step 1, so i try to keep going with my live!, i don't want give up. So, could you please tell me how read the results in my score report...is a little confuse. They show me low and borderline and high performance, so how can i understand this paper?.

Other question, do you think is important listen Golgan..because i don't have it.

I did UW, Kaplan books, DVDs and FA.

Thank you for the advice.

thanku everyone for ur encoraging words.really it feels better to hear all these motivational words and ur experiences.but im still not able to come out of my depression.its like every time i think of startin my studies again i get sad and feel real bad and my mind get stuck of all that time which i spend in prepairin for the exam and hard work i put.im doing job as well now so my study timings will also be reduced.this makin me more worried that would i be able to handle my preparation along with the job? but at the moment im having gr8 difficulty to make me out of this mourning and start my preperation and forget about wt had happened and start my preperation with new zeal and confidence.but im not ablin to find the way to start it.wt should i do about it?

Whatever you do, don't give up. Spend more time doing questions as opposed to studying the materials. The questions are more important, and make sure you read the explanations very carefully. Review marked questions and incorrect questions several times. Make sure you identify your weak points and give them more time. Keep up the faith and continue to work hard. May God reward your effort.
