Hi Guys I need to know prelim position in surgery at harlem hospitals in NYK.I got a offer for prelim there and I have an offer of anestheisology residency at NYK methodist.

Any idea please let me know about harlem.I will appreciate.

preliminary surgery is much harder than prelim IM, but since you are going to anesthediology it would be a good idea.... and since it is harder to match at two programs than one, I would probably accept them... don't know anything abour surgery at harlem though....

Hi prueba through wht i know, getting into prelim surgery is much easier than prelim im. And getting into prelim surgery would not necessarily open doors for u to cat. surgery. If u r interested in anesthesia, then taking it would be a better bet. Gud luck

hey decide, you are absolutely right, ...... what I mean (sorry, it was not clear) is that it is much harder in terms of work....probably that´s why it is less competitive, as you say, and also because It does not garanty you´ll get a categorical position at all.... but since anest. is in a surgical environment probaby it would be a good idea to do a preliminary year in surgery in terms of training...
