Reciprocal translocation is a simple translocation in which on portion of the the two homologous chromosomes is exchanges
Robertsonian Translocation is a type which occurs only in Acromeres where the short arm is very short and sometimes the short arm may be deleted during the translocation but this does not produce a significant effect to the person

Robertsonian translocation , if involves ch 14 n 21, may result in downs syndrome.
