Hi everyone
I have been a regular reader of this forum. Today was one of the worst days of my life, my step 1 and step 2 scores are 93 and 91. I took 2-3 weeks to prepare for step 3. I feel terrible that I failed step3. I got 72. After taking the exam I felt that I will pass. Honestly I don't know what went wrong. I'm starting to study again and want to be done by march. I need H1 visa for residency. and I have interviewed at 10 places. I don't want to send the score report to my programs, so that I get a better ranking during match. Any idea how to do that.
Guys I need some support, so those who made it, please guide me how to sail through. My prep material: kaplan notes, UW(60% score) UW CCS and Crush step 3. Now I don't know from where to start. Man I have never ever had such a bad result in life, I mean never failed an exam. Anyways, Bad things do happen. Wish me luck for second time.

Good luck for your next attempt. I don't have answers for your questions but call people and ask ...reach out for help. I am sure there will be some way out. Good luck again. You can get past this.

Hello,
I'm sorry about you step 3 result, however, it is just a temporary setback and you will bounce out of it soon. You are using the right materials to study. I suggest you spend more time, I'll say study consistently for at least one month. Pay particular attention to those areas recorded as poor performance on your result.
All the best!

Sorry to hear that. Today, I was very scared to open the result because I already got prematch offer today.I need H1 too.
I passed.
I studied a few weeks during working. Because of interviews and travel all over US, I can't really concentrate.
My exam is UW is totally different.
I used first aids. crush step III. I listened a few Kaplan video.
I did UW. My score is around 60.
In real exam, so many reds.
I am just guessing. I am career medic. I can't even answer medicine Q.
In the score breakdown, I am weak in emergency medicine.
I am sure you will be fine.
Try to sleep well before exam.
I was really cool during exam.
I will try to help you as much as I can.

Hi hanwin,
so nice of you. I will definitely like to get in touch and ask you some doubts I have about handling CCS cases. God bless you!

Reddd,

I know how it felt and feels, I failed this exam before and it was
very close (183), it made me go nuts...!

I did not want to rush it again, and I studied very well the results of my exam
went by memory re-constructing the questions and the cases, took my sweet time (almost a month) just reviewing Kaplan notes for Step 2 and Step 3, I saw the Kaplan videos 4 times, took practice test in the simulated timed mode (48 questions) then reviewed the wrong and correct questions (qbook, qbank, USWL), trust me it took a lot of time, it was boooooring.

3 weeks prior to my exam day, I took the NBME and studied my weak areas...

I sat for the exam Dec 18th and 20th (I chose to have one day in between to let me recover (it worked for me)

I felt Ok after the exam, but the waiting almost killed me.
I passed, it wasn't with a great score, but passed, I just needed to pass..

Finally, DO NOT beat yourself too hard, shit happens. try to built up your confidence and DO NOT let this to get to the core of your personality, you have passed Step 1 and 2 with grea scores, you just need to calibrate this exam a little bit more....nod

Good luck

Congratulations, Redddd! So did you avoid sending the previous score to the programs? I am wondering if only your current score will show on the official USMLE transcript or both scores will be there. Thanks!
