I would go with E good girl ... since the age of the girl , and the clinical scenario like her symptoms with the periods and nodularity of the lesion, tenderness as well , otherwise she is normal ,all these guided me to a fibrocystic lesion , probably proliferative " fibroadenoma" which have malignant potential as well .

The point is the age : Fibrocystic changes = older ladies, under the age 50. Still most common breast mass in women. Fibroadenoma = most common in women < 25 age. 2nd most common benign breast lesion/mass in all ages . The case of the lady above. Where histology explanation is attached below . The Q is from Kaplan IV.

damn this is where i messed it cos Papi says that Fibroadenoma is the stromal proliferation which compresses the ducts. Therefore i got confused.

According Kaplan, the picture of '' compressed duct by stromal proliferation '' without prolifarating ducts is very typical for Sclerosing Adenosis, which is one of the totally benign fibrocystic changes. Did not listen to Papi yet, plan to do it soon.

Well Papi and Robbins both agree on the presence of increased acini (2fold) in the normal and the distortion of the acini byt eh surrounding stroma is Sclerosing Adenosis while Fibroadenoma is stromal proliferation with ductal compression. RR pg 479

Fibroadenoma - is benign - no malignant potential but can be sometimes mistaken for a mailgnancy.
