Hey Uphill,
do you have a prep journal? If you don't, may I ask you to share your prep experience and list your study sources? Thank you very much in advance...

Sure!
I started with my preps around around 20th november. had planned to postpone my exam to jan at that time and concentrated more on my interviews(my main 4 were scheduled between these 2 dates)
i started with CRush step3 . i kept getting lost because i was not familiar with the book. 3 days into preps i decided to go back to my step 2 CK notes.i read medicine from my step 2CK and tables for obGYN/Paeds and rashes for paeds from step 2 notes.did ALL of UW in timed mode with reading and scored 59% cum.went back to crush for rest of the subjects.
practiced CCS Via UW( read around 65 once). did the USMLE CD.practiced CCS on it . typed and practiced cases from UW on USMLE CD just to get the hang of how to type orders.
unfortunately, found out i could not postpone my exam as the FSMB takes a 2 week break and i did not want to delay my exam that long. so gave my interview on 6 th december and sat tight and studied whole days with v little breaks till 17th . medicine mainly.did CCS cases in evening(2-3 days).
(Read all screening and vaccinations. very important, cant stress that enough).
Q i thought wre easier than step 2Ck,mostly primary care.
CCS-there is lot of time guys, make max use of the erasable boards they give u. write INv /or plans once before starting ur CCS blocks so that if u miss something, u can crosscheck from your board.
any other Q please write to me.

would you recommend Crush 3? wasn't planning to use it because i didn't used it for step 2... just wondering if it really is necessary for step 3 prep...
also, how long after step 2 did you take step 3?
do you have clinical experience outside of med school? and if so did it help you on the exam?
sorry for the many questions... don't have a lot of time for this exam... working full-time so i need to plan wisely and not waste time!

coca cola-

with limited time i did not have any option but to use Crush step 3, for subjects other than medicine. i am not a fan of crush , some topics seem incomplete and its difficult to retain stuff if u havent read it and annotated it from before. i did not have time to look for bettr book...there may be bettr options around i dont know of. also some people think highly of Crush.
i did my step 2 in july last year.i have clinical experience but not in medcine.
honestly,step3 is a lot to do with ur step 2 and much less with ur clinical experience. if u did ur step 2 recently and studied well for it, u shud haver no problems.
thanx for ur wishes ,everybody.
