Start with how you would rank these programs based on your interview experience......then maybe others would answer with their thoughts on programs that they may know about.

I'm not a doctor and I haven't interviewed at them. My opinion is not going to make a difference.

Hey Adrenalin,

Why are you making such a fuss..???!!! Ranking programs is entirely at your own discretion...no one can help you in that.....Rank the programs in the order of your preference and based on the research that you have done regarding these programs...why do you want to depend on others...???? You decide where you want to go....I am sorry if I sounded rude...but couldn't control myself after reading all these post of yours....

If I was in your position (I mean probably not interested in a fellowship): I would try to rank according to my impression of where would I have the best quality of life: salary, location, atmosphere, etc... Only you can make that decision... If you are interested in the reputation, then University of Maryland is definitely above the others...

thanx prueba for sincere advice....will doing a residency from a reputed program boost up my career post residency and increase job opportunities...?..can yu comment on the prospects in doing residency from other places..?

p.s.:..hey medmal..its easier writng down numbers for rol as advice rather than scribbling down yur expert opinion in incitng others ...dont waste yur time..if yu cant advice some1...hope yu step in some 1 else shoes to realise as to what they might be goin' thru..

certainly it does for fellowship applications...and most likely it will for job opportunities later....contacts (probably "stronger" at places with more reputation) are very important in medicine and any other field...
anyways, I believe people continue to come to the US because there's still a shortage of doctors... so there must be opportunities out there for everybody... the most important thing is to get in of course...

thanx preuba...what i undastand is that i should always look for opportunites with more reputed program that could give me jump start in my career later post residency.....????

what bout a program like say howard which gives h1b and pursuing fam med should be placed on top as compared to U. Maryland c'uz primary care and h1b as best combination....??

Have you heard of anyone who got a prematch offer from Michael Reese this year?? The NRMP quota says that it has 7 positions left but I haven`t seen anyone who prematched with Michael Reese...any inputs?
