I recently interviewed at an University program. After interview, they sent me a letter saying " You certainly made a very favorable impression during your interview. We are most interested in having physicians, such as you, continue their training with us and we are honored that you are considering our program as one of your choice for specialty training". What does it mean? Does it imply that they will rank me highly? Any input please. Thanks!

I got a reply worded exactly the same dated Dec 10( my interview date) from the same Uni. I know some one who matched last yr and also some one who didnt match last yr who had similar reply.
I just replied them with out any response yet. Ofcourse I didnt get reply to my initial thank u letter too.

But also enquired other applicants who didnt get same mail. So I dont know it may still be less generic mail.

Maybe they gonna rank you high but don't be sure ; nobody knows hospital's ROL. So fill up your ROL with your choices; if this hospital is your first choice rank it first but don't rely on them to rank you. If they will do, will be perfect ; if they will not you will not be disapointed!

I don't think every applicant they interviewed will get the letter. Only those who they likely to rank will get the letter.
For example, I did not get " thank you for interviewing" letter from UTMB while someone else do get the " thank you letter".
It is a very good sign to get the letter, obviously..
