Hold on i think i have a remedy for Wasim bhai i know he has been acting all tough and what not. if you can have someone in Karachi and go to Nadeem Siddiqui that would be better and if you can contact Sohail Rafi a geniune person so he would help. I have one of the admin people on my mailing list i will contact them and let you know ( if he responds) . While see if u can work out the kinks from the ECFMG side.

hi my problem is the same can you guys help me my name has two initials one is my name and other is my family name no middle name my family name is changed on all government issued documents but not on my degree . i applied for my appointment and i recieved my schedualing permit on it is written that it is acceptable that that the middle name can be changed on the permit from that of a government document like driver,s licence but when i went to schedule a date from prometric they asked for the family name with an asteric on it and that ur name should exactly match from ur government issued document that u bring
plz can somebody help me i m confused couldnt study

Go for the Form 186 And call up ECFMG and ask them will definitely solve or help out or atleast tell you what to do. Its Sunday night here in US (est) so in the next 8hrs you can call them and ask them.

penzy ,wat i understood is that u got ur last name changed .rt?so call ecfmg theyll tell u but on a side note do u have ur birthcertificate with u? with a similar name on it?its gonna work try that out .i still am unable to register myself thou and yes one cannot focus when something pops up [like this]i was to start my 3rd rd.but failed to do so ...yeah but today ill inshaAllah be back to my books cant afford to waste time ....make better use of it
and nnl,i called my med.school and talked to all kind of bhais....in the end it was this farmaan bhai who actually deal with the student stuff anyways same old thing NOT LEGAL we cant do anything thing about it ......i called these ecfmg ppl. and after talking and talking and talking [actually i was on my knees then on the floor]THEN they accepted that ok dont send this med.school ..but then send ur birth certificate ..atleast they asked something other than the med.school thing .but one thing i failed to understand that y oh y they r asking my med school to verify my current name?? even in the info booklet which they provide is written that only ur name on the diploma would be verified by ur med.school NOT ur current name i donno from where does this PAKKH comes from??in b/w i must write one last thing about this farmaan bhai or about the system in which they work....wat he asked me to do was to write an application requesting for my name change blah blah and INRESPONSE THE SCHOOL WILL GIVE A REFUSAL LETTER and he said that it would work?????????????i mean whos gonna buy this crap ? the whole system needs a makeover.. ilove my school but instead of making things and life simpler for others they make it more difficult if not impossible...its sad its really sad... im telling u coz i know we belong to same med school and we know how things work there?dont we?

hi i went to prometric center myself along with my documents told them about my problem and they guided me very nicely
they said that u have to change ur degree name if u have changed it on the passport because these days the rules are very strict as it will create problem regarding visa issues
infact they told me that i have to contact my university and they will ask me for my original degree , a photocopy of my marraige certificate , and my NIC photocopy with my name changed on it and ofcourse some charges and they will change it in 2-3 days
guess what they were right i called the admin office of my callege and they said the same things Inshallah i will be going tomorrow then i will tell u

hi tinko i went and they guided me good there is no need to change ur name if u have a government issued document such as a marraige certificate, NIC Card, etc its all written on the 2008 ecfmg booklet under change and verification of name
how stupid of me i wasted so much time when it was all written there u should have a look at it

hey penzy ,guud to hear that but do infact double check your name on ur marriage certificate [incase uhave some middle or last name mentioned on that] ur ecfmg and any doc.which u provide as a proof must have exactly same name spelling watever....so do make sure before applying coz that was where i got caught up as on my marriage cert.my last name[the family] is mentioned too which on my med.diploma is nt .....there only my middle name..is present[stupid mistake]yeah for that ecfmg asked me to provide the document which has name exactly the same as is mentioned on my diploma i mean degree so be v careful!!GL
