Im new here and wanted to ask a quick question, what is the general time allotment that one should take in preparing for Step 2CK exam? Is it possible to do it comfortably in 3 months or should I be thinking more in the 6+months category? also, as a side note, besides the Kaplan lecture notes, UW world.. is it a must to have the FA Step 2 book? plus anything else I should get.. Thanking everyone in advance. DocPakMan

I don't think necessarily that FA is a must for CK . But I can tell you one thing ...after the exam I looked in the Rapid Review section at the end of the book , and I think I had about 5 questions straight out of there .

Hi DocPakMan...I wish everything is ok with u ((what is the general time allotment that one should take in preparing for Step 2CK exam? Is it possible to do it comfortably in 3 months or should I be thinking more in the 6+months category? )) I think It all depends on ur time schedule...If u r studying for the full time,3 months are sufficient..but If u r doing some work beside studying, give it another month or so according to ur work hours. ((also, as a side note, besides the Kaplan lecture notes, UW world.. is it a must to have the FA Step 2 book? plus anything else I should get.. )) kaplan plus UW are enough for step2-ck preparation..this is what is said by most of exam takers..but no prb if u add FA or another stuff again according to ur time. BTW,my test is in the next april and with what i have done till now,it is very possible to achieve a good score with 3 months studying if u take it seriousely Good luck, buddy

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOps .I didnt mean to say that i`ll achieve a good score.who knows?! ..but what i meant that i feel comfortable with my preparation during this 3 months period. The more questions u practice the better score u get ...so pay most of ur preparation to solving as much as u can of questions with understanding their explanations. Good luck

Thanks alot guys, I appreciate it... After the Step 1 exam,, i got kinda side tracked and sucked back into other things which I had put on hold.. and here I am 2 months later trying to get back into it! I really enjoyed the FA step 1 in step 1, so i like the concise style, but i guess your right, if i have time/or start worrying too much, i may just get it as a ''back up''! As always, im indebted to you all,, it always help to get an idea if wether what ive planned study wise is sufficient or not! Wishing everyone the best of luck (and of course,, residency spot of their dreams!!!) DocPakMan
