Mallory-Weiss = tiny tears in the distal esophagus from irritation + retching. Also seen in bulemia.

Boerhaave's esophagus is a potential complication, which is complete rupture of the distal esophagus, exposing the esophagus to the pleural cavity. Also commonly caused complication of endoscopic procedure.
