Q3]function of plasmid is mainly regulating antibiotic sencitivity.but ans is
diffirent can anybody explain it?
Q4]non essential struccture of bacteria-is plasmid?how?

Hi drnareddy,
Those questions are from last year but I don't have any more the Levison to recheck the answer.
I remember that I did the Q4 from a table with essential and non-essential bacterial components and the plasmid were listed in non-essential because they are not required for a bacteria to reproduce.
I whish I have the Levinson book in front of me to give you more details where to find the page with the info about the plasmid functions. It is in the first 100 pages and I was amazed to find so many achievements a bacteria can get through the plasmids.

Best whishes!

plasmids are non essential part of bacterial structure because it does not participate in the bacterial cell reproductive process. It participates only on cells virulence and pathogenicity.
