I think it might be related to the Thalamic Pain as it involves DC/ML neural tracks which relay to the VPL of the Thalamus.

Dorsal columns carries propioception (vibration, joint position, discriminatory sensitivity) via Gracilis and cunneatus tracts, descussates in the medulla, synapse to the thalamus where it seves as a relay to the post-central gyrus (Brodman's area 3,1,2).
