Thx dr123 and smarty smiling face

dr123, immuno i only did from kaplan.......although i mastered it 4m jawetz during my third year, but i really felt like immuno was enuff in kaplan.........there is too much to remmeber in immuno and micro............so the most high yield stuff is all that I have done! Moreover, many of my seniors have told me that Uworld will give us a good idea on immuno! But i plan to cram the figs/charts and the HIV chapters from jawetz during the second go isA. Cheerzgrin

Regarding my preps...i am continuing with the hemato portion.....dr goljans audio is as awesome as evernod.....................some Qs from qbank physio too!

My off days from the hospital are amazing. I have to give in some time for my research stuff too, as my canadian supervisor is here in khi these days...........but the prep is pretty satisfying!grin a rare treat indeed..............O Allah help us...............give us Success in both the Worlds!

Thanks dowjunk . Even though I like Kaplan videos - almost in my Subconcious, I will give read to Kaplan first and then Rapid Review later. I dont like the way Kaplan writes but their videos are awesome. Videos and notes are twin so atleast one must read notes twice.

Best of luck in your preparation.

Hai dowjunk

If you can post ur friend majids experience on his behalf or if he shares his experience with us. That will be great guide for all of us here ( well atleast for me as he would have prepared from sources here and much more similar conditions to ours though he must be fresh grad).

Congrat to your friend .

Best of luck in your Prep.

Dr123 i have requested him to share his detailed experience.

And for my share of update: did half of neuropatho from goljan, some more qbank physio stuff and liver/pancreas still left. I went to a friend's place to discuss some already read stuff. i occassionally do that with my prep partner, once every week 4-6hrs of some topic by topic discussion. We did physio today!

I really want to finish some bulk of patho tomorrow as from saturday to tuesday i am going to do neuroanatomy's second read isA!

Long Long way to go!

lol, I thought you might sympathize shocked........neuropathology requires lots of cramming, I gave up half way through; and yeah the neuroanat that I did so many months back was hindering with my concepts, so I had the lockedin syndrome, lol!

at the moment I am trying to fight my way through the liver/pancrease thing....its all too much!

My lil brain is totally saturated, disapproval 4hrs of goljan audio today, with that thick book, shew......I hope to see my target acheivednod

Salaam,

I just peeked into your journal and it looks like we have the same goal time limit wise. Goljian is a great lecturer, I've listened to the lectures three times and still learn something new each time. I am a bit slow at absorbing info so most likely you will learn it all your first go-round. Inshallah you will make that 99!

  #134

We are all in same boat. I didn't mean it .Just inquisitive

Thanks speaksoftly and dr123!

dr123, I like your inquisitive way of busting othersnod....... , lol. ANd speaksoftly, please start peeking in more oftenwink.....i heard gvoljan the first time when i was in my fourth years, hes a pathoguru for sure! If u link absorbing to cramming, then do count me in.........i like making concepts and applying them but this cramming in step1 is a hell of an ask! Lets keep the hard work going!

I am doing neuroanat e my friend these days and hope to see it end witin a couple of days....will restart with patho then isA!

May Allah bless us with success!

You now what I like so much about Guljian? He seems like an average guy who decided to really dig in his heels and learn the material. Now everyone says he's supersmart but he denies this, he says he has to read something many times before understanding it. And he also is a believer, he was healed from having AML and states very clearly that it was all to God. nod

SO even though we have to struggle and battle while learning this material, remember that others have done it with even less than we have. We will conquer this test, inshallah!

  #137

Woww news for me, more reasons for voting dr goljan as my favrt. Speaksoftly you are absolutely right, We'll conquer this test coolin style isA !

I am very happy today, took the day off, as my article got accepted yesterday, alhamdolillah; soon my name will be on pubmednod isA. Had a meeting with another great research supervisor of mine, canadian basically, told me to try the canadian route too....after steps.....so more exams on my list!

Ok just an update for my last 5days: I finished neuroanatomy, listened to the 2007dvd, dont think i really gotmuch out of it, just 10 to 15% of new info, added tat to kaplan! Will start with patho again from tomorrow isA.

the party continues...........
