Just had a look thru yr ur journal...and want to say...WELL DONE!!!
I know how hard it is to study while being an intern...I 've been there and tried hard to study but could never manage much...as did so many calls...particularly on orthopedics ward...
anyways, you are doing great and keep doing your best !

I am closing in on histology, with just 2sections of physiology done, the dvds are taking alot of time, like pharma....................but all thats going into it, will come out later isA
I am lagging behind with the race against time........hopefully the next 3 days will be productive!

I am sitting in my ward right now, after a hectic emergency call day waiting for another appendicits to come and completely destroy this serenity  , lol!
Just the first 3 sections of physio, and a couple of days to be given to histo before i end it.
I visited boywonder's prepjourrnal and am very surprised to see how deep in histo do we have to dig....i really like his journal and will keep going into his world to assess the efficiency of my prep's level!
I hope to fight these 2 subs shortly, and gotta do them with style! Remember its my controlled programmed read!!!

Just came back from the library....i have finished histo from BRS, and i believe i m never going to touch it again, will give the third read from kaplan!
Physio is still into the section5 so may be it'll take another 5 days or something!
Practically speaking, it has become hard to keep pace with my old speed, due to the bz ward schedule! Theres one research paper that i need to write as well for publctn, but i have kept it in the shelves because i am desperate enuff for the second read.
I'll try to finish physio asap, and then chalk a modified plan for the next few weeks!

Hi everyone............I am still doing physio  . I have yet to finish resp/acidbase/kidney..and then to do kidney and GI from BRS. So I might eat up the whole month of June to get it off my shoulders.
But the good news is I am doing pysio very  well. I think , for the first time ever, I am getting the concepts well, discussing it with my friends openly, confidence is high, I am checking ganong for any hiccups...............so its definitely a very good feel overall! Something to cheer about in this snaily pacy world of mine, lol!

I am on call tomorrow again ...... so 2 more days in the drain....one the' call day the other drowsy post call day! Man man man!

WOOOOOOOO, the lazy lad is back! I am done with physiology although some portions of the DVD still to go! But i guess physio is done for now!

And hey smarty, where have u been buddy....Neuroanatomy had always been my weak link.........so I had a quick scan of the first 7chapters from NMS first, then I did spinal and brain stem from snells.................after which i jumped onto KAPLAn, and believe me it was kaplan that did the trick! No views at atlas during my first read! ALthoug i intend to start neuroanatomy again 4m saturday isA, and this time I'll go through the Natter atlas plus the DVDs. But you need to read thru neuroanatomy just from Kaplan ...fullstop

Now a nice story about how the test goes these days. I reconnected with alot of my pals in the last couple of days....as they just went thru their step1....so i thot it would be a good idea to get some fresh advice and help myself attain a new momentum!
I got to know of dozens of questions that they came thru in their exams....... my hours of discussion with them, has given the following key points: (Thankyou Majid and Emmad, really love u guys)
1) FA iz the key, know it inside out! Cram it and eat it and make it ur companion!
2) Cramming and cramming. Like in a Q they wrote that PG does this and does that, but the final query was a simple cramming point. If someone reads the last line of the long Q and had a good cramming capabilty, he'll mark the answer right!
3) I have yet to begin e the Qbank, seriously, as I planned to start e it after my second read. But now I plan to start it from 2morrow isA, 50Qs a day.....SO kaplan Qbank is another of my course book from now on; that 'll be used as a learning tool, more than an evalation tool!
4) UW is the ultimate thing! We need to use it as an evaluator after we are done with our good 2-3 reads and some FA review.......We'll have to cram and conceptualize all the 2000plus Qs and their explainations in the last 2mnths of our prep. I intend to buy it from 1st September ( so anyone who intends to start from the same period can share the bucks !)
5) Quick reads, that is complete subject reads in a month or less are more high yild than a 4month slow read......so we need to make sure that we give 3-4 quick reads in the last 2months of our prep, along with the UW, some reads from kaplan, and more importantly as many as possible from FA. My friends gave 2reads from kaplan (in 7-8mnths) then 4 reads from FA in the last 4 mnths along e UW,qbook,nbme,qbank.
6) Use NBME 5,6 as your evaluation exams...2 and 3 are the old-styled versions.

dr123, immuno i only did from kaplan.......although i mastered it 4m jawetz during my third year, but i really felt like immuno was enuff in kaplan.........there is too much to remmeber in immuno and micro............so the most high yield stuff is all that I have done! Moreover, many of my seniors have told me that Uworld will give us a good idea on immuno! But i plan to cram the figs/charts and the HIV chapters from jawetz during the second go isA. Cheerz

Regarding my preps...i am continuing with the hemato portion.....dr goljans audio is as awesome as ever.....................some Qs from qbank physio too!
My off days from the hospital are amazing. I have to give in some time for my research stuff too, as my canadian supervisor is here in khi these days...........but the prep is pretty satisfying! a rare treat indeed..............O Allah help us...............give us Success in both the Worlds!

Thanks dowjunk . Even though I like Kaplan videos - almost in my Subconcious, I will give read to Kaplan first and then Rapid Review later. I dont like the way Kaplan writes but their videos are awesome. Videos and notes are twin so atleast one must read notes twice.
