To bbb and all other seniors/gurus/ninjas.
This week I called a program to ask about the possibility of a 2nd look visit. The PC said it was fine and to email her a date. Today I received an email from the PC stating that they first need verification that I pass a TB test. Is this new? I've never heard of such procedures before. I'm wondering if it's their way of telling me that they're not so interested. I guess I'm a bit paranoid right now...it's just that I like the program a lot.
Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill?

Dude that is only 3 days, take the TB test, 2-3 days later the Doc gives you the paper that says you are ok, called her and say you are ok to go.
So we are talking that next week you do the tb and in 2 weeks from tody you can go bak
Unless is the political way for they saying we do not want you here

You can also talk to your PCP and you can get a CXR done if he thinks its ok, instead of the skin test. CXR is also acceptable. I had one done for a requirement for USCE. U might wanna check the out of pocket cost/deductibles from ur insurance company first.

I had 2 TB test when I did my rotations... So it does not matter...pretty easy... Usually second looks are different to interviews since you spend your day with a team, to see how it is on a regular day.
there are many regulations at Universities, hospitals, etc.... we had to sign a HIPPA form at WSU because we rounded with a team...
So I don't think it's a big deal. And I don't think they just don't want you to go......
If you think it is worth it go for it , if they say PPD then probably is better to have it... since people who control this are not necessarily doctors.... a CXR report would also be a good idea as arizona says....but probably a PPD should be enough...
