The answer is E

The puro motor hemiparesia described would most likely be associated with a small lacunar infarct of the left internal capsula. the signs and symptoms are generally part of a small vessel disease, usually associated with hypertension, diabetes or smoking.

no doubts, E has to be the best answer.
it seems more of a preventive medicine than a int medicine Q....
someone plz clear my doubts...this is not related to the above question.
aspirin prescription for the prevention of thromboembolic events(stroke or MI), is which kind of prevention??....
and controlling BP and BSL is what level of prevention??
plz help

  #11

I think they are all tertiary (to avoid complications/debilitations by already present diseases).

i felt the other way....
aspirin can be either primary or secondary and yes tertiary too.
aspirin...........given after the age of 40 yrs without any history...to prevent any event.

mostly it is given in after the diagnosis of MI or stroke......this will be secondary as diagnosis is made and intervention is done to prevent complication .

really confused....

Giving Aspirin to a healthy population is not clinically proven to be beneficial, it's not done. (Unless there's a recent study I didn't hear about).

But yes, secondary or tertiary in the post MI case... I am not sure... confused
