7 year boy brought by his mother complains that he watches a lot of tvs in night time and doesnt fall asleep wellinto night even if he doesnt watch tv and disturbs othersin the family on examination the child develpmental milestones for his age is normal physical examination is normal wat is the management?

a.reassure the mother that its physiological for his age
b. advice himnot to watch tv
c. behavior therapy
d.chloral hydrate 10mg 7days

d is given , short term therapy with chlorah hydrate for 7 - 14 days

C seems to be the plausible answer. Can any body put nore light on the diagnosis? and its treatment with explanations?

it might be sleep-onset association disorder,, in this case i would go with C.

chloral hydrate can be given for 7 - 14 days , since children of this age should not be having difficulty falling ans staying asleep this kid has problem staying asleep so this can be tried
