Kaplan Qbank USMLE

Hi guys

I have a question. When is the right time to stop reading the material for Step 1 such as Kaplan Notes, FA or whatever and start practicing questions, either Umsle world or Kaplan Q bank

I read twice the Kaplan Notes and now I'm finishing FA but ALWAYS you forget any detail.

Is it the result of the new Qbank that will indicate you to pospone your exam?. For example if I scored 60 then, Is it better to reschedule your step 1 appointment and take 2 months to re read your material?

Thanks in advance for your kind response

you should definitely start Qbank now. Most people start doing Qbank tests from 1 day of studying (in other words, even before having completed FA or Kaplan notes, for that matter) and thus end up finishing Qbank at the same time that they get done reading FA and Kaplan notes. I would recommend that you do that, and then move on to USMLEWorld and the 4 NBME tests.
Use Kaplan Qbank as learning resource, and not as a prognostic resource. By that I mean that you should use it to get more comfortable with the different ways that material could be tested on Step 1, without worrying about what your percentages are. The only thing that should cause you to postpone your Step 1 date is a bad performance on 2 or more of the NBME exams (dont worry if you do fine in 3 tests and poorly in only 1 test).

Good Luck

U definitely should start solving qs now, solving qs is more important than rereding the notes, as the problem is not just knowing the info but applying it, as most of the time u know the info but still u don't know the answer, start doing kaplan q-bank now then q-book, then UW and between every q-bank do 1 form of NBME for assessment, , take notes from the qs u get wrong, learn the qqs not just solve them.
Good Luck
