Dear bbb, I am currently on F1 visa and came to know about the fact that I have an option of doing my first year of residency in Optional Practicum Training (OPT). In that case, I don't have to give step 3 soon . I have few queries. 1. Do all hospitals accept this type of visa? 2. Would there be any problem in converting into H1 later? 3. Are there any drawbacks or potential pitfalls? Any inputs would be greatly appreciated! Thanx

You can be one year on this visa provided that you have graduated with a degree in the US - for example, you earned an Mph in the USA. 1. No. 2. Only if the program will sponsor an H1 visa 3. I don't know.
