A new test is being evaluated for the diagnosis of a pulmonary embolus. Studies indicate that a positive test result has the likelihood ratio of 15, and that a negative test result has a likelihood ratio of 0.85. Which one of the following is a correct conclusion?

    1)    This test may be helpful for ruling in a pulmonary embolus.

    2)    This test is highly sensitive for pulmonary emboli.

    3)    This test will be very helpful in a clinical setting.

    4)    This test has a negative predictive value is 85%.

thanks cool doctor. I think 4 too but wasn't sure. could you give any explanation for that?

"likelihood ratio is the likelihood that a given test result would be expected in a patient with a certain disorder compared to the likelihood that that same result would occur in a patient without the target disorder."

So, it's sensitivity, right? I think it's 2.
