Medical Doctor or Doctor in Medicine are not to be used by IMGs (despite we are called Doctors and it happens to be in the medical area, right?), so what will be the right title to use? Then, we are lower than AMG since it is obvious that MD gives more sense of confidence to the patients. I mean, it doesn't make any sense to me. Is it a way to differentiate between AMG and IMG? This is absurd.

Well, is there any webpage that explains the MD title is not to be used by IMG? Please, where can I find SPECIFIC information about it? Thanks

Did anyone here say that MDs are better than any other form of Bachelor of Medicine. No the only thing said and implied was that an MD degree (and NOT THE TITLE) can be obtained through the US Medical Schools and any IMG or FMG cant have that as they havent been through those schools. If they adopt the title it doesnt imply that they have the degree to back it up.

Like do i really need a mere title to express your confidence that is what i find absurd. Please stop twisting the words and cry foul when the rules dont fit you. The point of differentiation which you are trying to elicit is a sort of a misdirected racism towards AMGs. There are a zillion ways where one can differentiate between AMGs and IMGs but by arguing that IMGs have equal rights to be considered US MDs should be started by giving them the MD degrees from respective schools is a bit far fetched.

No they acquire the title by completing all the relevant process which AMGs go through except they didnt go to schools here. In other words the IMGs simply certifies his degree to be accepted as an equivalent to an MD degree.

Yes there is a difference between a title and a Degree.

I m an IMG and would keep my MBBS degree and to me a mere presence of a title doesnt make a good doctor or should it sway the confidence of people in me. (Though having it is a requirement)

Well, I understand now, sorry, I didn't mean to twists, be racist, anal or prove myself by a title. I just wanted to give my opinion that MD are people who are Medically competent to heal someone else. Peace.

All this discussion comes to simple conclusion. You may be MD,MBBS etc.You may be anything but unless you are licensed in the US you cannot practice medicine. You are a doctor if you have medical degree but without a license you are nobody as for as practicing medicine is concerned.
