Dear friends

It seems to me, during the match process; that most of the graduates who needs visa are aiming for an H1 instead of J. I understand the general advantages of the H visa: dont need to go back to homecountry, could be switched to GC in the future, possibility of moonlight during residency, etc.

However, on the other hand I heard that people on H visas are less likely to get fellowships once finished the general residency? I would like to know your thoughts in that matter

And if the hospital that sponsors the H visa has fellowships also, could be possible to continue "in house" with that fellowship under the H visa?

Thank you for your comments, GL in the process

dont worry, you can read a complete explanation in the Immigration forum. However its mostly based in Internal Medicine experience. Anyone knows about psychiatry?

thank you and GL

Only if the fellowship will sponsor the H visa. Just because the residency will, doesn't mean that the fellowship will.
