Hi! I'm an Pakistani who went to med school in the Dominican Republic. I graduated in 1995 from UTESA. I never practiced, got married and had a kid. Now he's 3. I am in CT,USA. I am thinking about taking the USMLE Step 1 at the end of 2004. If anybody out there is in a similar situation and would like to study with me, that would be great. I will need a lot of reviewing and would like a study partner who is in the same boat and has the patience to go at my speed. I feel very rusty  but have faith that I can do it if I set my mind to it. If you can advise me on what books to read, that would be appreciated too. Thanks!

Books. Kaplan is not a must . American grads are doing. BRS path, phys., and behav. Lippncot for Pharm, Biochem, . Micro ridiculously simple, HY Anatomy. I have HY for Behav.sc. not BRS. All the IMG's are doing Kaplan. Either way, Qbank is a must (after a full revision) though. I've heard the Kaplan books are good for ppl. who are rusty it wont hurt to use those instead of the others apparently they are easier to read.
