i just returned from prometric.took exam in chennai.not happy with the exam: i totally depend on usmleworld for my exam but exam is totally different.it tested a lots of basic pathophysiology which usmleworld is lacking in. total prep duration-3 months kaplan material usmleworld-60% overall. the length of q is ok.not too long.many q are out of my knowledge. guys,so be thorough with basic pathophysiology of all diseases. i scored 88 in step1 with just kaplan, bec.at that time i dont know about usmleworld.so after discussing with many,i depended totally on world.it is good, but most world q are what next type which is tested low in my exam.i hope for the best to happen.good luck guys.

thanks guys.its actually a 9 hrs exam with 8 one hr block plus one hr break.each block contains 46 q.bring some juice, choclates to the centre, bec. its a really tiring exam.the length of the q varies.usually around 30 q will be long.so be prepared for that.

Hmmm... never heard of that before. I don't think the USMLE sends people wrong scores and changes them later on.

Actually I personally heard about some people that had a chance to even retake the test, but that was when they started the audio stuff. Also in another website it stated that was not your real score and that was like a preliminary thing. Again this was from some one else in nother website, so he might be right, or he just look the 8 like a 6 Now I have a qquestion to You say they tested fisiopatology, you mean like the understanding behind CHF or the crazy step1 stuff behind the disease? thanks

The USMLE does NOT send out preliminary score reports or send out score reports with red marks at the bottom and then send out score reports later with your real score...

As I said I read that in another forum, and did not bother to investigate to see if it was real or not. I just did like nnl give the reason of the doubt. Thanks men for the information

You mentioned we need to know basic pathophysiology well. Do you think kaplan is enough for that? Did you get questions about lyzosomal storage diseases? Good luck with score!

Exactly wolverine - I'm scrambling to check my score reports now for the 'red mark'.. haha.. Hilfiger - Kaplan is more than enough! Lysosomal storage disorders is more to do with step one. I read Goljan's patho notes during the last few days before CK - I found it very useful.

Hey everyone! I have to say that I agree with pradeepbalu's first post here!! I took my exam yesterday and found the questions similar, but not at all the same as in the UW!! and i also relied on UW totally... Maybe that was a mistake... I started with Kaplan, and went through it one time, then started making notes and studying from UW with referring to Kaplan only for Gyne and some Internal for many times, but for the rest I didnt' repeat Kaplan only I sticked to the UW. PSYCH and emergency were very very similar to UW, GYNE not so much, INTER MED very different. I think next time (I don't think I'll pass!) I'll repeat Kaplan more than just once. Oh it's doable to pass and score well, but just takes soooo much work!!!!!!!!! Good luck to everyone

you know, it's strange to say this, but i feel now- 2 days after, that i barely remember anything!!!! when i got home, i was searching for the right answers to the questions i remembered, but now it just seems like my brain is empty! Am i getting crazy or what??? The FORM of the question was the same as in UW but I didn't feel i had more than 5 questions that i recognized from UW (!!!!) and I went through 60% of IM questions from UW and felt pretty confident after that and after covering Kaplan IM, too. I personally thought that UW Q bank was going to be more reliable, more present on the actual test. Maybe I got the wrong impression... when is your test HILFIGER?
