I've never been to NY before so I need some advice.
Which airport should I fly in from when going to:
1. SUNY Brooklyn
2. St. Lukes Roosevelt

Which is the easiest way to get from Manhattan to Brooklyn (St. Lukes to Maimoinides) in the afternoon/evening bcos I have them back to back? Taxi? Subway?

Where are the must-see spots for someone who just has half a day to wonder around?

Thanks guys.

either JFK or Laguardia... both are in Queens, NY so really not much difference... yellow cabbies charge a based fee into Manhattan and Brooklyn
best way to get from manhattan to brooklyn - subway... also fastest because driving in manhattan during the day is horrendous...
Must see Times Square... if you wanna see an aerial view of NY - try Empire State building or Rockefeller (Top of the Rock)... good luck and have fun!

World Trade Center use to have the best viewssad

Good luck for your interviews Jazmil. Don't miss out the Statue of Liberty... Check out Madame Tussaud's museum near Times Square if you're into wax statues.. grin

I just returned from NY, My advices are

Buy cheapest ticket to any airport.

Then call shuttle service to go to you place (free phone at the airport), this is door-to-door shared van to your hotel, 15-19 $/person,

or Call 1 (800) BLUE-VAN (258-3826)

Don't take the cab, expensive and rubbish driver (my experience)

Go to any hospital by subway and bus, buy 7 day unlimited ticket, price 28 USD

Search trip123.com to know how to get to hospitals

Good luck

hopstop.com is another good site..also gives u the estimated travel times..
if u have half a day, take the citysightsny tour from manhattan(i think it is at 42nd and 8th avenue)..goes through manhattan(times square, empire, broadway), statue, central park, south sea port etc..or just hang out around times square, macy's, madam tussad's..enjoy

Sorry robin, doesnt mean to correct u, but it's trip"s"123

And jazmil, welcome to NYC. Actually it's not a problem wherever u go in NYC as the subway system almost covers all parts of 5 NY districts. Even if u land in Newark, the Long Island Train takes 5 USD(8 minutes ride) to Penn Station in Manhattan.

From your hotel front desk do pick up a map of the subway/ MTA routes and stops. Very good map, made me feel very comfortable travelling by subway.

Hello, u can also get a bus from Laguardia airport and it takes u to harlem and many other places in the city i think. There is a travel advisory counter at laguardia airport where they have all the maps and usually a guy to assist u with bus routes and also can call cabs but again I wud also sugeest that u avoid the cabbies in NY :-) Have a nice trip buddy.
