vc posted this question i my prep journal,. im posting it here so that u give him/her ur input.

I will be applying for step 3 and was wondering which state will process the application quickly as I have to take the test by the last week of january.
I have read on this forum that CT ia the quickest, as I have done one of my exams more than 7 yrs ago, I was told I am not eligble to apply thru CT.
Can anyone please let me know what states are the best to apply to get quick application process.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks in advance

You mean the maximum number of attempts on Step 3 is four attempts.
I have a question - when you submit your application for STep 3 - do you need to have a copy of your ECFMG certificate? I have passed all my Steps - 1,2, and CS, but my Med School is delaying the verification of my Med School Transcript (i.e. some stupid form 399 going back and forth between ECFMG and my Med School). Anyway - I am expecting my final ECFMG certificate by the end of January - beginning of February. Could I start applying for Step 3 without this certificate, but with all of the Steps already passed.

cool

i guess so long as you are certified, the actual ecfmg certificate is not required...just fill out the online application, pay ur fees, print and notarize the identification form and mail it..
but, are u sure u can sit for the test in the 1st 2 weeks of january
