Hello friends,
We all get replies for some of the thank you letters and its hard to interpret them! Lets help each other by posting the replies and getting feed backs from others.
How much does this letter signify? Is it just a routine letter mailed to all candidates?
" Thank you for being in touch! I am glad that you enjoyed my Grand
Rounds, and that you had a great experience at Sinai. I hope that you
consider us highly when making out your rank list. Do not hesitate to
be in touch with any further questions about our program. Good luck,
and Happy Holidays! "
I cannot reveal the program, due the fear of confidentiality!
The other mail from another program was,
"I very much appreciated receiving your thoughtful thank-you letter, and am
sorry that I did not have a chance to respond earlier. I am glad to hear that
you had an enjoyable day here at Memorial, and that you were favorably impressed by our program as well as our faculty and housestaff.
It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to meet you. I enjoyed our
discussion of your recent academic endeavors at Illinois Institute of Technology and your future career plans. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further
questions regarding the program as the interview season progresses. "

Replying to Thank You Letter is itself a big feat, as I got less than 5% Thank You Letter reply.
By gut feeling, I think the second one regards u highly.

I also believe they will rank you high. You are their resident provided that you rank them high. when they say: rank us high! It means they are gonna rank you high for sure! if you are interested in them so go and celebrate right now. congratulations.

No matter how assuring the mails can be, but the fearing of unmatching is inevitable!

what if there is no reply from the faculty but the chief writes to say that she hopes I will rank them high? does that mean anything?

What people say is, " when any interviewer says something like that- they will rank us!"
So.... you can keep your hopes on it.

hello everybosy
i got a mail at my eras..thank you for your interest..we r impressed and our selection committee has decided to rank you on our match list..
it was not a response to my thank you e mail but a mail posted to a group thru my eras like distribution.inet@...whatever.. the way they send bulk to applicants via eras..but 1 of my frend hasnt received thou we had interview the same day .
wat sense shud that make to me??m confused

Thats a very good sign..... receiving a direct message from the program.. wow..... but we never know how many will they rank! But my guess is, you will be in their top priority.

thanks ea i know even i was pleased initially but the prog is very unstable it plans to shut down..so i was wondering if they are doing so to trap the candidates?plz read my post in the support forum and try replying..i have very meager chances and m very desperate to get into a resi spot bcoz of family and financia problems..

try to be in touch with the chief resident! May be send an email wishing new year and ask a question about the program.

its getting harder to wait,now that not many interviews are left and all thats left is to go over what we v already done ..again and again..
and yes read meanings into replies..i hope this gets over soon....

Hi all,
I had an interview couple fo weeks in a program and got a reply to a thank you letter from the chief resident.
"Thanks for your nice words. You are a very kind person.
As I told you in the interview, you are a strong candidate. I wish you
all the best whether you end up in our program or somewhere else."
It feels nice to see reply for our thank you letter.
I hope things go well for all of us.
