A drug has 10% rate of side efffects ,when 2 patients put on the drug ,whts the probabilty of both developing side effects? 1. 1% 2.5% 3. 10% 4. 2% 5. 15% ? plz explain .

answer given is 1% in BSS.(dont knw how :roll: )

the ans 1% is correct, the are independent prob, 1/10 x 1/10 x 100 = 1%.

dr.shar , How did you get that 100 ? Don't we have to substract 10 from 100 ?

10% means 1 in 10 or 1/10. two indepent patients are taking means 1/10 x 1/10 prob of percentage is 1/10 x 1/10 x 100
