Old pt with long history of DM and HTN gets progressive loss of vision, on physical exam the eye has no hemorrhages, no cotton wool spots, no neovascularization, what is the dx? Glaucoma, DM retinopathy, HTN retinopathy, cataracts

all three other than cataract causes hemorrhages or any other change in fundas.,hence irreversible...cataract is sort of conduction disturbance.,produce no change in fundas. n reversible

i think cataract as well.

old age + DM.



glucoma will be progressive loss?

also is glucoma associated with DM? pain will be one of the features besides halos.



some one please elaborate

glaucoma isnt associated with DM . Pain might not be present but then the loss is gradual. Halos are present in both glaucoma and cataracts

glaucoma is definitely associated with OLD AGE

CATARACT! is the answer
