You should not worry, what I have observed its pretty common to feel this way. So calm down, and believe in yourself.

Dude believe me u are possibly in the clear and very rarely one comes out of this exam and says "i m sane" or coming out and saying something like this . So just chill those answers will haunt you for the next 20-25 days and you will feel absolutely like falling in a never ending black hole but seriously snap out of it cos 'tis the season to be jolly ................ Drink up mate and forget exams and enjoy life with family and friends.

Hi, I am so sorry I didi not post my exam experience but here it is: Background: I am an IMG since 2001. I Finished residency in Clinical Neurology. I came to the US only 1 year ago with my small family. I work now as a medical assistant in a Neurology office till I am done with my Exams. Step 1 Preparation: It took me 9 month as I Work and I am alsoresponsible for my family. Resources: Kaplan for everything except Goljan for Pathology and MRS for Microbiology. FA : I was adding any additions to my review book and marking the High yield subjects present in the FA in the review book too. Kaplan DVDs and Jolgan Audio. UW : I was solving subject by subject , Scored 71% overall and 77th percentile. Kaplan Q book: accomplished only 60% of it. I didnot solve any NBME exam. I did not want to get frustrated be4 my exam. also, I was forced by some work circumstances to take the exam that particular date (12/18) Exam expreience, I had some troubles the week before the exam, my wife was sick and my car was broke anyhow it is not time to talk about this. the exam its self was a little bit harder than i thought. everybody says it is easier that UW. but my opinion is it is the same level of hardness. something weired happened with me i dont think it happened before to anybody. in the first block and after solving 40 questions, the computer DIED. that means I found a message saying that the computer faced a fatal error and the exam had to stop, please notify the centre staff. I was on my nerves as it took them a complete one hour to fix that and restore my answers. Alhamdlelah I did not have to start the exam from the begining again. i made a post 2 weeks before the exam about being worried for passing an 8 hours exam as i didnot go through this in my entire life. but here i had to pass a 9 hours exam . MY rest time was 5-5-5-15-15-15 -every subjuct had its equal share in the exam with an expected trend toward Path. there were many questions you can swear tthey are expermental ones as you feel that they came from the outer space, you will only have the option of marking any answer and you have the probablity of 20% it will be the correct one . there was a question for EMG and I solved it only because i am an ex neurologist. on the other hand, there were very easy questions. they are gifts from Allah of course. My advice: - stay focused and dont let anybody distract you. -3 things are musts: Goljan Audio, FA and UW, dont ever go through the exam without them. - dont was time on questions you know you will never answer them, besides they may be expermental and dont count. finally i wish that God will reward my not only for what i did in the exam but also for the difficulties me and my family faced before it. Now, I am trying to use the suppresion defense mechanist to fight those flashbacks. i hope I will be patient till my results show up. please wish me luck. i will update my score as soon as i c it inshAllah.

A friend told me this: You've taken the exam and, at least for now, it's behind you. You should be happy that it is over and try to get your mind off of it for the next several weeks until the results are ready. Until then, it doesn't make any sense to worry about it as worrying will not do anything to change it. Think about it, let's take both options: Person A takes the exam and worries obsessively about it for several weeks straight, then gets the results where the score = n. Person B takes the exam and is care-free for the next several weeks, then gets the results where the score = n. Person A and B both received the same exact score of n, regardless of how much they worried about it. As you can see, n is not effected by anything done after the exam. So my question is "which person would you rather be?" A good friend of mine taught me a long time ago and I've been much better off ever since. It basically means that you should not needlessly worry about the things that you have no control over because it won't change the outcome. If anything, concentrate your efforts on the things which you can make a difference with.
