Ok I’ll try to be more specific this time with my resources information I started with KLN 2004 along with DVD lectures, but after one month I realized that dvd’s were too boring and I was almost sleeping after watching half of the lecture, so I made a plan of going through all the syllabus mostly reading and only watching a dvd lecture where I did not understand from the book. Gross Anatomy Went through entire KLN gross anatomy section and read HY gross anatomy once. I did not use dvd lecture for anatomy. Later I again read KLN with FA. Neuro I only used KLN for neuroanatomy, read some chapters from HY but it was too confusing for me. Later again KLN was my main source. Histo Just 1 reading of KLN and one or two chapters from BRS cell biology. No revision done Embryo One reading KLN, plus first 10 chapters from HY embryo and later FA for revision only. I only got one question from embryo on the real exam. NO DVD’s used for any anatomy section. Physio Two readings from KLN except the endo section which was too lengthy. About 2 readings from BRS physio. Watched most of the dvd lectures during initial months of my prep. The teacher is amazing but he is too slow. Biochem KLN only with FA. Watched most of the dvd lectures during initial days of my prep. Genetics KLN with DVD only. Read a few chapters from HY molecular biology, good book but time consuming. Patho One reading from Goljan 700page book and 1 from Kaplan. No dvd used. Later I installed a Robbins review book from skyscape on my PDA. I used to read it as my bedtime story book. My sleep latency period is quite long so I randomly read most of this book. I think for those of us who have already studied medicine, surgery and other clinical subjects, patho is not very difficult. I think I spent least amount of time on patho. Goljan audio is highly recommended, he gives you really good concepts. I heard almost 33 lectures and they were really helpful on the real exam. Micro One reading from KLN and one reading from MRS. Tried to read KLN again but found them too boring and difficult to retain. I think FA was more than enough and MRS charts were also helpful (I got them photocopied but couldn’t read them all). Immuno 3 Reading from KLN plus some revision HY Immuno (not recommended). I didn’t understand much on my first reading but later I found it very interesting. Pharma I didn’t like this subject, I tried studying Kaplan but it was difficult to retain fro me. I read first three chapters and watched gen pharma and ANS dvd lectures. Later I only used FA for pharma which was more than enough for exam. Beh Sciences I read this from Kaplan once, watched some lectures specially biostat and Epidemio lectures. Later 2 readings from BRS which was excellent. Other useful resources 1. Steadman Dictionary, I had this on my pda and it was very very useful 2. Buzzwords Usmle, I had this also on my pda, and used to read it whenever I didn’t feel like studying anything. I went through this book twice. It helped me a lot answering some questions even before reading the entire question stem. NBME All offline NBME 1 156/200 NBME 2 152/200 NBME 3 157/200 My Biggest mistake: Did FA only once, should have revised it atleast 3 times.

Congratz on your achieve and step 1 is now over for you!! thanks for your detail experience, its very helpful.. but i still one question regarding behavior sci section..as i was watching DVD and listening to Dr Daughtery he mentioned that HMO, PPO, medicare and medicaid system are no longer tested in the past 5 yrs. is it true? did u see any questions on these subjects? because in KLN notes they still have those sections. thanks for your time. Good luck on ur step 2
