God is Great
Finally by the grace of God I am finally done with step 1.
Exam date 20th dec 2007
Time 9 am
Reached exam center 1 hour earlier. It was tooo cold and i was shivering.
Anyway started with the tutorial which i finished in 2 minutes and started my first block, did another block before taking a 10 minutes break. Took another 2 blocks together and took a 15 minutes break. next 1 block 10 min break, another block 10 minbreak and finally the last block & survey. I have heard many people saying that this 8 hour period is very tiring, but i didn't find it tiring although i had a very bad sleep last night.
Overall the exam was doable, although i cant remember anything now. I am trying my best not to remember anything .
Lots of patho questions, some physio, some pharma, very few tough questions from biochem,hardly any biostat, micro easy stuff, some strange anatomy, very easy neuro, alot of patient doctor relationship questions some of which were very tricky and the some french/greek whatever questions but overall seemed easier than UW and qbank.
Now i dont know what score i will get but I am having a great feeling, finally free after 6-7 months.
Now the prayer time begins, please guys pray for me.

and i admire u for not remembering
i can tell now that after the exam i am going to be all nervous trying to check what i did wrong and thinking of the worst
i can be real cynical.

About heaters, at the moment here prometric has set up their center inside united states education foundation's temporary office as their new building is under construction. The exam center itself was cosy but the waiting area and lockers area was too cold, no heaters no carpets.
Well about resources, I had alot of stuff but i didnt use all of them.

FA 2007
Medessentials
BRS almost entire series
FA Qbank and clinical case books
UW
Kaplan Qbank
Goljan almost all types of his notes from 700 to 36 pages plus audios
Kaplan DVD lectures
Step up
Lippincot's most of the book
HY series
MRS series
I had these books on my pda
Steadman dictionary
usmle Buzzwords
oxford handbook of clinical medicine
pharma guide
and many other medical school course books.
I think i hardly used 50% of these resources. The best ones were
KLN
FA 2007
UW
usmle buzzwords (pda-skyscape software)
About websites, I guess you dont need to waste alot of time on them. Most of the mri, ct scan and pics are well supported by the history in question stem. Just concentrate on FA during your last 1 week before exam, I underestimated FA and kept it for last 3 days. FA knowledge helps alot on the real exam.
Now i cant suggest anyone about what to study and from where because I am still in the waiting or which i call the prayer phase of my step 1 prep. I have heard result comes in 21 days and that makes my expected result date to be 11th jan 2008 inshallah, which will be my birthday day.

So in ur resources , which one u use whole or few chpt , which not use at all , u don't havev to post in rush , take ur time & say more detail which re the materials , resources u used after celebration of new year & exm being done

hi,
im new user prep for usmle for five months done wid two reads of KLN,planning to do FA,UW and Qbanks till end would it be enough to get good scores...plz advice

@ Drshummyla99: Hi, I think its the right time for you to start UW along with FA. I didnt use Qbank much. UW is really very good, it helps you integrate whatever you have learnt from KLN and FA is a must. You must also listen to Goljan lectures.
