I had my exam on 28th November and today received my scores - 231/96 (at about 9.30 a.m. ET). I want to share some things: do not be afraid of the exam, it's not about knowing by heart thousands of facts. First Aid is enough if You are acquainted with the subject there - so basicly You'll be able finally to almost know it by heart, but not just memorizing but simply as a final precipitation of your knowledge. If You are not ok with the subjects there - like I was (I graduated 6 years ago) - You should read something else beforehand - Kaplan Lecture Notes is perfect. I recommend High Yield Anatomy and Linda Costanzo's Physiology (physiology was may be most examined on my Step 1). Do not go deep into anatomy and embryology. I also read High Yield Neuroanatomy (instead of Kaplan's physiology, neuroanatomy and anatomy), but what is in First Aid is enough. I also did some tests - usmleworld for 1 month - earned about 50-60% overall. Usmleworld is veryy good.
ONCE AGAIN I EMPHASIZE - DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THE EXAM. I AM AMAZED HOW THEY DID IT. YES, YOU SHOULd KNOW FACTS, YES YOU SHOULD IMPLEMENT LOTS OF KNOWLEDGE, BUT IT'S MORE ABOUT THINKING THAN REMEMBERING FACTS.DO NOT GET EMBARRASSED BY QUESTIONS YOU DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER. SOME OF THEM ARE EXPERIMENTAL, YOU KNOW. GOOD LUCK, ALL OF YOU. SEE U IN THE NEW WORLD.

Congrats mutoid! that's a great score! Wish you the best for step 2 .
I am left with 6 weeks for the exam & I'm scared real bad. Did almost 3 revisions from Kaplan,but didnt do any goljan stuff. Do U suggest I shud stick to FA & UW in final days?I wish I can somehow overcome my pre- exam fears so I can concentrate better..I'm such a coward!

I wish You good luck, Mcqueen and all the others. Keep to First Aid and do lots of questions. Do not waste time on Goljan. Now it's time to relax and just do Q&A. On the exam I did the first 200 questions in a row, then drunk coffee and visit the WC, then did the rest 150. I was afraid of loosing concentration - that's why paced at a very high step. Strange, but all the exam felt like an unconscious dream or something - I barely remember some 10-15 questions. For most questions U will not be able to just know for yourself weather You chose the correct answer (but don't worry). Do not be afraid, the actual feeling after taking the exam is quite high and positive, although it's a little bit mind consuming.
