thanks acintya, mikky, drcully, epc924, seblemal. Angel doc, u still young . Me getting old But still young at heart. epc924- micro is a subject where memorization is important. Use mnemonicss, flash cards, charts, whatever suits you. & then keep reviewing. i liked the chapter in kaplan which had flow charts with blank spaces where one could jot down imp facts. Mark the areas in which you are weak, so that u can work on it. The exam vignettes are not very hard, you can easily get an idea of what they are talking about but it may ultimately boil down to a test like coagulase, catalase etc for identification. Choose your method, but repitiion is important. hope this helped. seblemal- you can view my scores here. http://www.prep4usmle.com/forum/thread/10309/18/

Salaam SFK, First thing first.. congrats on your score!!! as i have looked through alot of the schemes on this site on other users i liked yours the very most. I am a IFMG who just finished in Decemer of 2007. and started studying for step 1 and scared like living hell. don't know where to begin. i signed up for step 1 to take in june. hoping its plenty of time. what scares me the most is that i won't finish all the material and fall back. i don't know what to use and where to start from. some days i just get lost and don't want to do anything. i have all the materials books , dvd's first aid, qbook, eventually i will sign up for Usmle world once i am done with the review. but i would like to ask is how should i begin and how much time should i put into these subjects or divide them. Is 6 months enough to study? please help. Salaam

thanks paheli and mydream itzmansoor, nice to hear that u liked my post. Your exam is in june, so u have a LOT of time, esp if you are not working at the same time. if you dont know how to start, i think u should start with a subject with which you are most comfortable, so that u'll get some confidence while reading/watching the video. however during your prep your focus should be on the weak areas, but as of now, u can be kind to yourself get started, then u can work things as they come along. good luck
