Program Name: ECU Date of Interview: mid december Where did u stay, nearest hotel, travel etc: Program provided accomodation at Hilton about 2-3 miles away from the hospital. Right opposite to Walmart. It came handy as I forgot couple stuff and just walked to walmart to purchase it. Level of "stress" (0-10): 2 How many interviewers: 2 How many applicants: 5 IM- 4 showed up. 5 IM/EM combined applicants. All AMGs except 2 Tour included visits to: Hopsital, ER, Resident longue, call rooms, library, ECU, ICU, CCU etc etc... Questions asked: both interviewers had different set of question. No medical questions. My research experience skews my interview so I keep those questions to myself. One interviewer was psychiatry faculty as well as IM faculty. His questions were more unique and I felt he wanted to assess if I am a good fit for the program and whether I will be happy living in Greenville, NC Happy residents: yes / no / ? : VERY happy Atmosphere: relaxed, supportive. Good amount of interaction between faculty, cheif residents and residents. Wonderful experience City, how is living there?: Greenville, is not big as Raleigh, but still a nice place. Everything you need is there. Big Plus, beach is an hour away. Houses and living expenses are very cheap compared to metropolitan areas. Research oriented: yes / no / ? not really Prematch offers?: no.t in general does make exception. Visa sponsored?: none in my knowledge What I liked the most?: everything. people were great. They recently made about 1000 sq ft longue area for residents. It houses brand new furniture, sofa, two huge flat screen lcd tvs, one hooked to xbox 360. about 20 computer terminals to do your work and research. pool and foosball table. Couple million dollar simulator for simulated prodecures including cathater placement and tube insertion. I just feel like as a resident and as an applicant they treat you so nice. It must be a good experience What should be improved?: research Rate experience (0-10): 9.5 Conclusion: great program. Will rank very very high. Only if they offered a prematch....hmmm....
