bbb, please can you say how far an average program needs to go down their rank list to fill 8 seats.

Hi Crazy, I was wondering the same thing...
I guess if all the top 8 on the program's list rank the program highly on their list then they could get their top choices or at least top 10 or so... BUT if the programs top 8 list the program low on their list, then the program would probably would fill with lower spots... Its really hard to say...

dr virgo, maybe in an average program they need to go down to no. 24 to fill 8 seats. i would like to know what yu think.

well, along the same line what i would like to ask is that how many applicants does a program usually rank if lets say it has to fill 10 spots for PGY 1. i was told that its given in the nrmp website but i could not find it anywhere shaking head

It varies so much from program to program, i'm sure you won't find any significant info on something like that...
