Today I attended IV at community affiliated university hospital. The chairman of Med Dept interviewed me, he ask me my future goal, I answered Rheumatology fellowship. he was a little bit disappointed because his subspecialty is geriatrics. He told me that I can do rheumatology after finishing geriatrics, I thanked him for his information. I was also disappointed because I made the interviewer uncomfortable.

After the hospital tour, all applicants left except me, I was asked to stay to meet the PD.

The PD said that the chairman passed my application to him. He told me that he is a rheumatologist and he did not see anyone who is interested in rheumatology in the last many years. After discussion he offered me a prematch and let me 1 week to decide.

He also said that he will support me to get rheumatology fellowship. The program is not an excellent one but is good and better than many programs.

I am going to discuss with my wife and probably accept it.

God bless me after I was unlucky to lose my luggage at the airport.

even if you decide not to take the prematch at least you will come away with good memories of NY rather than the crappy ones from that @#$% cabbie and losing your luggage...
good luck! grin
