not only can you learn about HD but most important the diagnostic tools to be used.

Southern Blot uses DNA as in main study.

Northern Blot uses RNA for it studies

ELISA used to indentify antigen

Western Blot uses protein for it studies

"A southern blot is used to detect DNA by DNA-DNA hybridization. A Southern blot of the son s DNA, probed with radiolabeled pieces of DNA specific for the mutant segment would show the presence of the mutation if the child inherited the trinucletide repeat from his father."
