A 29-yr old F, with history of irregular menses becomes amenorrheic. She had no problems conceiving her first child at age 23, but has been trying unsuccessfully to become pregnant for the past 2 yrs. She also notes a wt gain of 3 kg, increasing fatigue, puffy face, marked cold intolerance. CBC shows Hb 11.1, MCV 90. Physical exam reveals moderate-size diffuse enlatgement of the thyroid. Which of the following profiles would most likely be seen in this woman?

A] low T3, low T4, high TSH

B] low T3, low T4, low TSH

C] low T3, high T4, low TSH

D] high T3, low T4, low TSH

E] high T3, high T4, low TSH

A. Thyroid is enlarged which means having TSH stimulation of higher degree. Only A has high TSH. what is the answer?

why the amenorrhoea?raised eyebrow isnt that more of a feature of HYPERthyroidism?

No Oligomenorrhea is a possible presentation of Hyperthyroidism but amenorrhea along with other symptoms mentioned in the stemm its hypothyroidism.
