48 yr alcoholic man,fever, facial rash,rapid progressive swelling of the left face. The swelling started 12 hr ago when a scab on his face began to itch. temp 39, unable to open his eye because of the swelling.

1.Group A strep

2.H.influenza

3.HSV

4.N.meningitis

5.S. Pneumonia

answer may be 3
scab on face may be impetigo.....but is not itchy....cant be 1
niseria known to cause rash but not on face it is over the extremities...cant be 4
h.influenzae...hmmm....no rash or swelling??
S. pnemon....yes very common in alcoholics to cause pneumonia...but rash and edema of face?? no it cant be

rash over face with scab which is itchy......HSV can be possible answer....alcoholics have poor immunity so HSV....
