hi friends
I'm planning to register for step3 and would like to take the exam by jan end or early feb and return to India.
I understand that the eligibility period is alloted once we apply for the exam and that we can't choose the 3 month period...so can someone who already applied recently tell me how long it takes for the application to be processed and around what time the eligibility period begins?

Usually application processing time is 10 working days if all your papers are in place.. Eligibility period starts immediately after approval of application though you will get permit may be 5 days after the start date of the period. FSMB takes this delay in account and usually adds about 10-20 days in addition to 3 months in your eligibility period. Your chances of getting a date in Jan. if you have not applied already are slim.. With holidays on the horizon, it is unlikely that FSMB will work with same speed..
