Hi Folks, I am wondering that after interviewing 10 times as many candidates as the number of position how does the selection committe rank and how many do they rank? Do they score the applicant immediately after the interview or wait till all the interviews are done and score the applicants ? in the later case how do they remember exactly the applicants. One of the program I interviewd clicked pictures using a professsional SLR camera so that the PD remembers the applicant when they prepare the match list.

Programs rank as many as they want to.. they have that opportunity. And each week on a specific day the commitee meets up going over the recently interviewed applicants, placing them for a high rank, medium rank or low rank kind of ranking.

One program director y meet last week told me, the residency committee will join by the end of January and prepare the ranking list based on what they noted during the interview and posterior communication with the applicant (they said that if the applicant doesn't contact the program, they assume is not interested). Some other program score the interviews and the applicants with the best scores will be ranked. They usually rank 60-70 of all the interviewees.
