Had an excellent interview with them this week. I was very impressed and SHOCKED by this program. The good thing is GREAT comraderie amongst residents, faculty and residents get along VERY WELL, PD will do everything in his power to accomodate you during residency in terms of electives and fellowship acquisition, you become a very GOOD doctor with excellent training background, beautiful benefits + salary.

The bad things in COMMUNITY PROGRAM (hard to get fellowships as admitted by residents, although not impossible), bad location (Brooklyn, NY), no housing.

Overall, I ranked this program a 7-8. If it had fellowships, I would have signed right then and there. But I am afraid because of no fellowship availability. As of now, I want to be hospitalist or have private clinic, so I am HIGHLY TEMPTED to take this prematch and be happy with myself.

I also got an offer from Our Lady of Mercy (Bronx), Monmouth Medical, and Danbury Hospital...........but this one I liked most despite location.

Guys, should I take it ? Or go for match ?

PLEASE ADVSE MY FELLOW FRIENDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd would take it. (Im also from unibe grin. I finished in dec 2005 and graduated in 2006, maybe we know each other; my email is othellito38@hotmail.com)
But btw. Lutheran or monmouth I would take monmouth. Both of them are community programs but the difference is that Monmouth is in a nicer neighborhood and lutheran is not. But if you live in brooklyn then is a different story. I have an interview next week in monmouth but I might cancel it because tomorrow I might sign a prematch contract in NJ. Anyways good luck!!!

i was also interviewed and offered prematch at lutheran, but i didnt take it, becos, the program sounds so desperate saying u have to tell them right now and doesnt give enuff time to decide. not a very good program from what i heard from the residents, too much work, no research ,no fellowships, no good electives.. just like slaves working more than 80 hrs a day. if there r better interviews, dont take it. my two cents.
